>Version confilcts - something installed TreeView 5.0 SP2 over my pure 5.0 installation - and I can't figure what it was. Maybe VFP6 updated it, without taking into account that I don't have VFP 5.0a and no SP2.

Yup, it was VFP6 that updated it. It updated (or downdated) my Treeview SP3 with the SP2 version - screwed up everything.

Prior to VFP6, there were problems with a modal form being instantiated on top of a TreeView control. While not visible on the control itself, within DEBUG, the expand and collapse event would fire for no apparent reason. Other funky TreeView UI stuff would also occur. For example, in VFP5, a MESSAGEBOX() instantiated on top of the class browser (which uses TreeView) would change the appearance of the browser.

This may be related to your problem, maybe not.

Ken Levy told me that nothing could be done about this issue (the problem being how VFP handles the disabling of ActiveX controls), but that it would be addressed in VFP6. While I haven't had time to test it, there seem to be no more "visible" problems with VFP6 modal forms being instantiated on top of the new TreeView.
