I'm, but I sort of dig in into the existing project. I learned a bit, I also re-designed some pieces to become stored procedures, but still the original design of the application is not well thought and we're not using classes or layer separation. Everything is done with out of the box .NET controls + SQLDataSource.
There are a lot of external free tools used in the project, though, most of which I like. The tools are taken from the CodeProject. The previous developer of the project was really good in finding all these components.
At some point I wanted to introduce one class for GridView, but got stack on adding references correctly to the project and never finished this.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
