You can always have a browse preference, and I mean literally so - see PREFERENCE keyword in help for browse command. You can also have a little bw.prg which would look up which preference to load based on the alias - keep their names somewhere - and load the proper browse nowait preference "myprefForThisAlias". So you'd just have to type bw()... and pretty much learn not to click Browse button in the View window.

Which reminds me of my major complaint about VFP9 - will make new thread for that.
