9.50/hr is looking pretty good to my 17 year old daughter. I agree that 9.50 is not sufficient (let alone the current minimum wage) to raise a family on. I wasn't attempting to be negative about it, I was just pointing it out in case others were not aware of his policies. It may stress small business owners too much and factories that start out at minimum wage and if that is the case, time to bring down the corporate taxes so all the corporations don't continue to relocate overseas...

>What is the current minimum wage these days anyway? Cause $9.50 sure doesn't sound like much money to me. How could a single preson raise a kid on 9.50 an hour?

>>Increase the Minimum Wage: As president, Obama will raise the minimum wage to $9.50 an hour by 2011 and index it to inflation so full-time workers can earn a living wage that allows them to raise their families and pay for basic needs such as food, transportation, and housing – things so many people take for granted.
