Well, what do you know:

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/nation/5967502.html

I read an article that stated she thought Roe v Wade was decided correctly so I thought she would be ruled out since McCain stated he would NOT have a pro-choicer as VP. Then I saw this:

http://www.ontheissues.org/senate/Kay_Bailey_Hutchison.htm

That puts her back in the game. In fact, her voting record is downright scary...

Here, a local representative stated at one of our highschools it would be Cantor:

>Olympia Snowe would be an absolutely fabulous choice. But I suspect McCain will go with someone who will appease the social conservatives (who don't like him much), and that's not her. She already has trouble with the Republican leadership in Congress for going with her conscience and her constituents instead of toeing the party line.

>>Olympia Snowe or Kay Bailey Hutchison? :o)

>>>She's a month older than McCain.

>>>>>>Or so Barack's email states...

>>>>>To me, this is a gutless choice and is becoming indicative of the Obama campaign as of late. Either Hillary, with all the baggage, or Sebelius would have united the Hillary backers and removed the existing disparity with female voters that he requires to capture the election. Instead he went with the only vetted choice who's spent more time in the Senate than McCain, who's openly criticized Obama for the same points that the McCain campaign has been making and in multiple bids for the presidency himself has not been able to garner substantial following outside the already locked up state of Delaware. To me this is the safe and uninspired choice and Biden's entire job will be as attack dog.
>>>>>
>>>>>Dick Morris has suggested that this creates an obvious opening for McCain to choose a female running mate like Kay Bailey Hutchison. His argument is since McCain is already doing better than most expected with female voters he could seal at least the current percentages with a female choice and likely attract even more.
>>>>>
>>>>>I've stated before that choosing Lieberman would end the race by undercutting Obama's message of change. While I'm not completely convinced, I'm starting to think that Hutchison may even be better as she could bring in a significant number of female votes and she doesn't further aggravate the conservative base. Since neither one is an exciting speaker they'll both bore us to tears when debating Biden. That VP debate will be more effective than Ambian.
>>>>>
>>>>>Regardless whom McCain chooses, he should announce his choice on Thursday to disrupt the newscycle of Obama's acceptance speech or first thing Friday morning to disrupt the morning newscycle going into the weekend and GOP convention. If he announces either Lieberman or Hutchison the disruption will be a resounding success but if he goes weak as well with Romney or Pawlenty then Obama will likely retain the headlines through the weekend.
