You actually watch these things? You've got a stronger stomach than me. I recorded last night's program so I can watch Bill Clinton's speech, and will record tonight's to watch Obama's. But that's it. The rituals, balloons, etc. don't do anything for me.

>Sheesh, she even pledged New York's delegate votes on the floor just now. Never seen that happen before...

>New Mexico yielded to Illinois and Ilinois yielded to New York. Very entertaining... it was her then who took Barack over the top. Talk about engineering... :o)

Hillary will probably keep herself in check, living to fight another day. It's Bill who is the loose cannon. By many accounts he is still steamed about the primary race, and he is not exactly known for stifling his urges. I won't be a bit surprised if he uses his speech to stick at least one right between Obama's shoulder blades.

>>>Something I read suggested that the Clinton supporters who are still undecided will be watching Bill's speech, not Hillary's, to decide which way to go.

>>It's hard to imagine Hillary supporters ever voting for anyone as conservative as McCain. Staying home out of spite could be a problem, though. The Clintons could persuade people not to do that by saying we know you're disappointed but the best thing you can do as a good Democrat is vote for Obama. So far they have conspicuously declined to say any such thing. The closest was what Hillary said at the rally -- a rally celebrating her own campaign -- several days after Obama locked up the nomination, and that was pretty tepid. I just don't think either Bill or Hillary has it in their DNA to lose graciously.
