I have met her and she is very gracious in person. My dad and his second wife donated to her campaigns and those of her husband (two term governor of Maine) and they came to the house when Priscilla died.
I didn't think my dad had any surprises left for me but he pulled one a few weeks ago. He said he is voting for Obama. To my knowledge this is the first time he has voted for a Democrat. He is the old style of Republican, i.e. fiscal and for small government. He can't stand the "traditional values" wing of the party.
