You don't need to pay for maintenance, training, installation, tuning, etc. And they are still touting (I read it in an article this week) that if you can modify the source code.

I agree there's bad propaganda on both sides - and there the proprietary side has more water under its bridge.

Of course, your bias is well hidden.
