My knee-jerk reaction was to ask "and other kinds of programmers are...?", but then I remembered that these guys on the radio always take care to say where does the support for unsupported programming (meaning their broadcasts) come from, and what has made impossible programming possible (meaning their broadcasts but BBC news too - poor Brits would never have them without help from here). But the actual cherry on the cake was the official programmer in the high school where I have spent my early career years. She was in charge of part time students, who were coming to school, or rather, back to school, when they were already overage, employed or both. They went for various curricula, aka programs. So the school needed someone who'd keep track of who's on which program and which courses do they have to complete - therefore, a programmer :).

BTW... in a couple of years, start counting how many times did you visit the beach. My annual _tally<10.
