They are monolithic in their support. I pick my candidates, based on logic. In the Cohen race, there were several factors, his Memphis field rep is a friend of 30 years, and he asked for my help. The choices were Nikki Tinker, a female racist, who didn't even live in the district, or Cohen, who is a liberal, but pro gun and pro death penalty. Cohen won with 70% of the vote. Randy Wade, the field rep, is a black man who ran for Sheriff in '02, and I supported him, which cost me dearly in my career. He will probably run again in 2010, and I will support him again.
