>Hey Charles,

>>>McCain could not have made a better choice if he wanted to highlight being a reformer and a maverick.
>>
>>I agree. An exciting choice. Pawlenty would have put me to sleep before the convention. Now I am interested to see where this goes.
>>
>
>Yeah, me too. I see some of the media is already trying to pick her apart and find ways to disparage her but - wow - what a surprise. This is the same media which cannot and will not dig dirt on Obama but will leave no stone unturned with McCain or Palin.
>
>Seriously, if the mantra is to clean house in Washington could there not be a better running mate, Dem or GOP? My sense is that the Dems are crapping their pants and still figuring out how to respond.
>
>I mean, take a step back and look at this as the theatre of the absurd: Before Friday the GOP was "experience is everything" and the Dems were "experience is business as usual and bad". Now, haha, the DNC is harping on Palin's lack of experience and McCain's camp is downplaying it.
>
>This is just great, great gamesmanship on the part of McCain. Sure, he takes away his experience argument but it's an "in-your-face" choice for change in Washington and there's no easy way for it to be overcome.
>
>People like Perry, Tamar, and the other dyed in the wool Dems are going to vote Obama no matter what. Not a newsflash and neither is the fact that Jay and John H. will vote for McCain no matter what. But you have to wonder what the huge percentage of Americans who don't wear their ideology on their sleeve will do.
>
>Personally, I think they're going to embrace Palin.

People are going to embrace Palin. She's a nice, likable lady. One of us, as is being offered as a hopeful plaudit. What it reflects on McCain for choosing her is another matter entirely.

BTW, don't be in denial. You say you are libertarian but I'm not sure your Republican upbringing is undyed. You are no less apoplectic about Obama being elected than John H.
