Hello Larry
>I'm looking at QODBC *www.qodbc.com* to read/write data btw out VFP applicaton and Quickbooks Premier. Does anyone have any experience with this?Personally, no. But Rick Borup has spoken at our Chicago FUDG user group meeting about this product several months ago, and it was excellent! Packed full of useful information and code examples. He'll be presenting on this subject at SWFox 2008. Take a look at
http://www.swfox.net/sessions.aspx and scroll down to the session titled "Automating QuickBooks with QODBC", Presenter: Rick Borup.
One of the major points he made was the quality of documentation. Take a look at any of the links on this page:
http://doc.qodbc.com/qodbc/Qodbc_20_us.html and drill into the field detail for any of the tables. Another member of the user group also showed some code he had developed about 4 years ago using the QuickBooks SDK. After reviewing the code and seeing Rick Borup's presentation, he said "If I had to make any non-trivial changes to this code, I would scrap it all and start over with QODBC".
If you can't wait for SWFox, or you can't make the conference, I would suggest contacting Rick Borup at
http://www.ita-software.com/. A couple of hours of consulting with him will likely save you a couple of weeks of development time on the project.
HTH,
Randy Bosma
