Once again. There is a difference. It would be no problem for you to have acquaintances who belonged to the Communist Party back in the day when it was more extreme, belonged to the KKK and publicly espoused those views, or even one who was responsible for terrorist actions. However, what if any one of them were claimed by you to a close friend, mentor, or advisor?
And you were running for public office???? It is NOT the same thing.
