>>I was amazed at the number of negative stories about Palin coming out today, but, then again, I heard a prominent Democratic strategist say on Saturday that the media and the left would try to destroy her as soon as possible.

>>The amount of dirt they're trying to dig on her in such a short time is simply amazing - I think it's going to backfire the way that the attempted attack on Cheney's daughter did in 2004. Many of the stories from earlier in the day were flat out wrong and I don't see a flurry of retractions, do you?

>Yes its unfortunate that kids get dragged into this. Like when McCain made a cruel joke about Clintons daughter

I have been reading numerous first-hand accounts of people who have known McCain for years either in the Senate or working on one of his committees. I must say, his temper and some of his comments (supposedly humor) concern me. They are not big issues except that the calmer the demeaner, but the better I like how they deal with stress and emergencies. I'm still stuck on the issues though. I agree with neither candidate completely or much at all today.

So far, there still is no really good candidate - not even a 'good' one. I may have to settle, but I'm not sure I am willing to settle on McCain or Obama. I'm going to have to continue to research the 'small fry' and vote for the one whom I agree with the most if he/she is on the NC ballot in November.
