>>>>If you're American and leftist (I mean, left from what's called left here), or Polish but not Catholic, or colonial but gone native, or Jewish but disagreeing with policy of Israel, or Palestinian but agreeing with the Israeli neighbors, or were a communist between the 1920s and 1950s but disagreed with Stalin, you're black sheep as well, there's nothing new. Intolerance makes politics. It's also a way to keep the ideas from being diluted.

>>>Keep it simpler. What if you are just a murderer among normal people? It seems to be another victim of intolerance in your books.
>>
>>Bad parallel. You need an example of a member of an oppressed subculture who has joined the mainstream, defying his peers, and is ostracized for that.

>It is very simple. Actually, I gave you easier question, initially. You said: "If you're American and leftist (I mean, left from what's called left here)... ". What about rightists? Let say members of some White supremacist and/or Nazi group. Are they also "victims of intolerance' for you?

If one of them goes liberal and his group exacts revenge upon him for that, that's what I was talking about. To them, he is a traitor.

Anything else you tried to imply does not apply to what I said. All the examples I listed were about possible cases where one can be perceived as a traitor by his peers. And, IMO, the African American community shunning their own who refuse to speak the way the community prefers, or women who prefer the patriarchal attitudes - well, their communities perceive them as traitors and go after them - by critique, or stronger measures.

I don't think I passed any judgment on any of the groups I mentioned; I tried to pull examples across the spectrum only to show that the mechanism is the same, regardless of the political or cultural color of the group. If it looked that I had any preferences, it was unintended.

update: ah, you may think I was talking about the group vs wider society? No, this was about group vs renegade members.
