>>>Good night, young fellow. I'll be back in here tomorrow.

>>OK. I still might not be making any sense. I know you are going through worse than I ever have.

>Here's an update on that mess. Helen was using her walker to get to the bathroom, April sixth. She fell and damaged her left knee. From then on, she could no longer put weight on the knee and therefore can no longer walk. I called 911 and she was taken to Stony Plain Hospital. She was there until May 27th when she was placed into a continuing care center (nursing home) beside the Hospital. Unfortunately all that was available was a bed in the dementia ward. She was there until this past Monday, August 25th when a bed came open in the area where people still have working brains, but their bodies are crippled. She has been having trouble swallowing and after a fluoroscope examination, we saw a constriction at the top of her stomach. Almost all the food she eats does not get to her stomach and is regurgitated. She has lost seventy pounds in two months and has been put on the "Urgent" list by her surgeon. He will put a camera down her throat and take a look. If all it is is an esophageal ring constriction, he will open it and she should be okay to eat again. While he does that, he will take a look at her stomach and duodenum. So, she is getting better care than I could provide and I have less stress in my life.

Grady, you have my sincere sympathy. My best to you and Helen. You are still the man she loved enough to marry. Her love was not misplaced.
