>Tracking it on three radars in my browser... it seems to have just passed Rocky Mount, and it's still on I-95. The bulk of it is north and west of the eye, stretching all the way to DC - while we're just about 80 miles east... nothing, just some wind and not much rain. Looking through the window (the known liberally biased source :), I see a guy in shirt and shorts, pulling out boxes out of some sort of delivery truck. No hat, no umbrella and not much wind either. So far, so good.

Sun is finally peeking through spots. To the south it looks better, to the north, still solid clouds. Having been in real hurricanes (Fran was NOT fun) this was almost a non-event (although those folks flooded and with trees down wouldn't agree). The bad thing about these tropical storms, it can give folks new to the area a false sense of safety. Then when a REAL one comes along, they don't prepare.
