>>I don't know what dialect (I know there are around 12 but some like Mandarin are more commonly known). My daughter is working part time at a Chinese restaurant. The owners and all the other workers are from China and speak VERY LITTLE english. Haley is helping the owner's wife (who works there as well) study for her citizenship test. They speak so little english that the majority of her time is spent teaching her the english phrases she needs to know form her study books (she has a LOT of them). They speak so little english that whenever Haley says something or asks a question, they just smile.

>>Haley would like to ask them in Chinese to teach her to speak some of their language as well. They do NOT even understand that in english. Every time she mentions it, they just smile. Does anyone know how to say it (can your write it phonetically)?

>>This is an example of Haley's daily struggle:
>>
>>The owner was teaching Haley how to use the cash register. Haley has used POS machines before and knew the POS should be able to provide the change back amount. All day the first day Haley counted back change because the POS wasn't providing it. Not a problem, but the others could not count back change. So Haley asked the owner how to get the register to provide the change back amount. The owner kept telling Haley to press F6. Haley kept pressing F6 and nothing happened so she asked the owner to show her. He did by pressing F8. Haley said 'Oh you mean F8!' and the owner said, 'No, F6!' :o) Haley finally found the book on the POS and found out how to ring up a sale correctly and showed the owner. He was very impressed because now his drawers balance at the end of the day and they never had before :)

>Maybe she just wasn't looking at the correct beads.
