Calgary had its first Dev Days this year. The Microsoft regional director who set up the program (an unpaid job) works for the company I do. His office is down the hall. He's a great guy. I found him a presenter for VFP who did an admirable performance. Most of the presenters were around our office practicing their demos. As you can imagine, our office is pretty solidly a VB shop.

However, I do get the chance to extol the virtues of VFP and most of the VB'ers are at least receptive to the comments. The more others see 'VFP in action' the more respect they have for it. It's a slow process but I'm trying to do my bit. I am doing a 'Lunch & Learn' in our offices which is an opportunity to demonstrate to other developers, etc. something interesting. My topic is "High Speed Internet Database Applications".

I think VFP will be as good a product as the VFP community makes it, both because of Microsoft and even in spite of Microsoft.
