So with the new version of the interface, what's the best/most efficient way to view topics with more than 15 messages?

What I'm doing now is clicking on the thread map, checking the first 15 messages, viewing them, going back to the thread map, un-checking those 15, checking the next 15, clicking view, getting the "can only check 15 messages" error because I mis-counted, un-checking one, clicking view, reading those 15, going back to the thread map, un-checking those, forgetting where I was in checking them, so clicking on some message I remember reading, checking the next 15, going back to the thread map, clicking on the last message viewed to get a marker, backing up, un-checking the last 15, etc., etc., etc....

There's got to be a better way...
