i had the exact same problem when i first started running VFP 3.0 for windows 3.11 and the problem did not occur with the same program on windows 95

i never did get to the bottom of it.
it just stopped happening after a while

but the one problem i had was that once a form started "acting"
transparent i could never get it to become "opaque" again.
