Thanks, I see that. Once I followed the link I kept going to derived tables and table variables. I am playing with this stuff and the CLR assemblies. I want to get a result set and return it to another function that uses that and builds temp tables to use in view creations in yet other functions. Instead of accessing functions in select clauses we build cursors ( temp tables now ) of the values we need and join to them and we want to do the same thing in Sql.
