No, I really don't think so. The expression "lipstick on a pig" is common. I saw video last night of McCain using it a whole bunch of times (at least once referring to a Hillary Clinton policy).

The page you point to is a blog on a site apparently dedicated to party-building. It appears that anybody who wants can start a blog on that site (http://www.democrats.org/page/content/StartABlog/).
