Did you recently change your network environment. We just had the same issue a couple of weeks ago and found out that when we changed from "Mixed NT Security" to "Active Directory only" on our domain controller, it caused the exact same error message on our COM server objects. The fix was to install the latest SP for Win2003 on the server running the COM objects and then everything worked again.
