Mr Morales [the president] accused Philip Goldberg of "conspiring against democracy" and encouraging the country's break-up.>
>Well, there has been lots of turbulence recently - so it now seems that the U.S. ambassador is at fault? At least, that's what Mr. Morales seems to claim.
Recent developments:
* Preliminary reports indicate that there are four dead, in clashes in Cobija between pro- and anti-government factions. Cobija is the capital of the department [state, sort of] of Pando.
* Hugo Chávez says that, if Evo Morales is overthrown, Venezuela will help militarily.
* The U.S. says it is re-evaluating the diplomatic relationships with Bolivia (judging by previous tendencies, Evo Morales couldn't care less).
* Lots of highways in Bolivia are blocked - well, unfortunately, that is not exactly "news". It tends to happen whenever somebody protests against something.
(What, the "li" HTML tag is no longer supported? I'll write a separate message about that.)
