A developer in another office has the same issue and he running Vista Ultimate SP1 on a 32bit machine. I'll look into the Virtualization issue you mentioned, but if that were the case, wouldn't that sitation exist even when created remote views for a MS-SQL database?

I just asked about virtualization in case you were running Vista within a VM, or running Vista in one VM and a server OS in another on the same box. VM hypervisors have to handle disk I/O and inter-VM communications so that would be another layer of complexity to consider if it were in place. It's really a yes/no thing - if you're not using it you don't have to worry about it being a potential source of problems.

Another long shot - you could experiment with .NoDataOnLoad = .T.for your cursor/view, if you're not already. UPDATE: I see from your first message you're already using NODATA.
Regards. Al
