I think I didn't read your message carefully enough and since I don't have VFP here it's hard for me to reproduce in my mind. In any case, my point was that it's expected to have an error with indexes and ALTER command on a cursor.

I don't think there is a point of submitting a bug - hardly we can expect any updates, but probably would not hurt either. At least people running into this will find this info.
