There's a whole school of slang back home, which finds meaning in foreign words by... well, meaning. Of their parts. So "thank you very much" was taken for "tenk juri veliku macku" (a tank chases a big cat)... but that was kiddie stuff 50 years ago. Only 15 years ago, Mubarak was translated as a stable - a moo barrack.
