If SET PRINTER TO NAME (myPrinter) would not work for you for some reason, you can always just switch default printer back and forth.

Changing Default Printer>This is not really a VFP problem, but it's where it is turning up, and I wanted to see if anyone else has ever seen this.

>My company purchased a number of refurbished Dell GX 270 PCs to replace some even older units. I set a few of them up, and had a problem I can't figure out.

>I have a couple of programs that print labels to a thermal printer instead of the default laser printer. These PCs and these alone are sending all output to the default printer. It's obvious in report preview that the output is formatted for 8x11.5" as opposed to the labels. I've reset the default printer to the label printer and the situation reverses, as all reports meant for the laser are now being directed to the label printers.

>Because this company still insists on using some old DOS programs (including dBase, which after two years I still can't get them to let go of), the default printer is attached via parallel port, while the label printer sets up through a USB. I've never had a problem with any of the other PCs in the office, old or new, with the same configuration.

>Does anyone know of a situation in which something like this has occurred, and whether or not there is a solution?
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
