As I was reading John's thread about Big Brother, I thought I would mention the security system I installed a few months ago.

It works great. We have two cameras setup at the moment and I will probably add another soon. Each camera runs around $250 and the software is solid. It uses the wiring already existing in your home/business to communicate with the PC. All you do is plug a camera into an outlet, plug the receiver into another outlet and then into a USB port and the software detects everything and you are ready to go. It will record anytime there is movement, and you can setup areas on the video to eliminate things like leaves moving in the wind from causing it to record. Just make sure you have a decent box to run it from. I made the mistake of trying to run it on less than a GB of memory. It had a hard time with that. Now I bought a new PC dedicated to it with 3GB ram and it works awesome.

They have outdoor, indoor and hidden cameras also.

I wouldn't buy from them, or from the big retailers. Can't recall where I got mine from, but I used NextTag to find it online and made sure there was a return policy. There are some older houses with multiple junction boxes or old wiring that it might not work as well.

Just thought I would share.
