Consider a loader exe like others have recommended. However, have the loader exe read a text file which only contains the filename of the exe to run. That way, you only have to put your new exe in place and edit the text file when you want to update. When your users next run the loader (they never run the app exe directly), it will launch whichever exe is listed in the text file. If for any reason you need to roll a customer back to a previous version, you can edit the text file and have it launch the older version of your app. You distribute the loader exe, the app exe, and the text file for new installs.
