Have you tried calling a config.fpw file from the command line and including the correct foxuser path/filename in this file? We've had good success with this method.

Further, what if someone's done a SET FOXPROWCFG in AUTOEXEC.BAT. His program may not even be using the expect configuration file. So I'd hesitate prior to telling him just to delete it or let it be overwritten.
