And I don't see why he doesn't get more credit for his community organizing before that, when he could have been making big bucks with his educational background.

>I know you know what he went through in Vietnam. They broke his arms, hung him from a pipe by his broken arms, and broke them some more. They did everything they could to break him and they couldn't. He took that for SIX YEARS. And somehow he came out still an optimist. He talks sense and he doesn't always consider first which side he is on. I will absolutely vote for him if he runs.

>This above all, to thine own self be true, and then it must follow, as the night follows the day, thou canst not then be false to any man. He epitomizes that to me as much as anyone around. You bet I'll vote for him and in fact I will campaign for him.

>(Bold mine)

He would be a lot more like Bush than Obama would.

I still respect McCain, but he has lost some of his luster in the way he has run his campaign. Or should I say the way he is letting it be run for him. They have brought in bare-knuckled guys like Steve Schmidt who have taken control of the campaign, and it is right back to business as usual: whatever it takes to win. His positions are bouncing around like Mexican jumping beans and he is now speaking from the script instead of speaking frankly. Don't get me wrong, I am not trashing him, but that refreshingly candid John McCain is nowhere to be found at the moment.
