Hi everybody,

I have two questions.

1. We would like to move VFP database to SQL Server. In VFP we used "GUID" like PKs (not exactly the same GUIDs as in SQL Server, but some manipulations on GUIDs to create only letters and numbers).

What should we use in SQL Server for our PKs? Should we try to use existing PKs and just for new records use uniqueidentifier? Or should we try to keep existing PKs for reference only and switch to Identity fields?

2. We would like to generate unique Reference number but in a format convenient for the user. What should we try to do for this?
