>>>There's been a lot of beefing about the price of gas over in the USA, on the UT recently. Here prices have started to come down (one garage, in 2 hikes, by 5p a ltr) but I've heard nowt of suc from the US. Is it that only the bad news gets commented on and people lose interest when times improve?

>>Our situation is different. We actually have gas stations that ran out of gas and only sold premium until it too was gone. The supply to the southeastern U.S. is still limited. It's the smaller chains that are having problems and (believe it or not we still have em) the independents. Gas ranges from 3.78 to 4.00 here still...

>I read that Atlanta is virtually out of gas due to disruptions in supply due to the hurricane(s). When is the supply supposed to get back up to speed?

>At lunchtime today I filled up for $4.03 (regular, 87 octane).

I filled up at $3.18 on Saturday.

Then Monday everybody jumped about 15 cents because the oil companies managed to up the oil prices to compliment the other economic screwing we are getting.

I filled up at $3.25 yesterday once that eased up slightly.
