It has been known for some years now that the Universe seems to be much, much greater than the visible part. What this article is saying is that there seems to be some huge accumulation of matter - perhaps dark matter - beyond the visible part, that is tugging at galaxies, in a certain direction. Somewhat similar to the Great Attractor, but on a larger scale.
