We had that when the boys were old enough to play baseball against teams from other communities (as opposed to just the intramural games within our local Little League). Our team was mixed, but many of the other teams in the league (mostly from more distant suburbs) were all white. Once or twice, we ran into nastiness on this front, though almost always from a coach, not the kids. There was one team we all hated to play because of their coach.

It was also interesting when our kids would go to the district chorus. Our delegation was always a mix, and most of the other kids were white.
