Absolutely. It used to be the only way someone could cheat was if they found a better chess player to help them, and that might not be an easy task. Now there are pocket chess games that can take apart most anyone.

The guys I play chess with look at the challenge the same way I do, and I have full confidence that I'm playing them, not machines.

When playing the same people over the years, you get to know the way your opponent thinks. It would be fairly easy to spot someone deviating extremely from his game.
