This message has been marked as the solution to the initial question of the thread.
Bill,

>I have just installed the eval version of MM.Net for VS2008 and upon selecting File -> New Project, the MM.Net project type templates do not appear. I have Team System for Software Developers, XP Pro SP3. Doesn't inspire much confidence. Is there a special key for the eval?

Occasionally this happens to some although I have not had this occur to me. You can verify the templates got installed correctly in the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\9.0\IDE\ProjectTemplates\CSharp\MM .NET
and for Visual Basic
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\9.0\IDE\ProjectTemplates\VisualBasic\MM .NET

If they are installed in those folders then run
DEVENV /SETUP from a Visual Studio Command Prompt. That should take care of it as it instructs Visual Studio to add these templates to the VS dialogs
Regards;
Tim
