Three somewhat dissonant thoughts:

First, if large numbers of people did this, that would likely contribute to the problem.

Second, if your money is at an FDIC-ensured bank, and you're below the limit, you should be fine.

Third, if we have the kind of collapse that message implies, I'm not sure that cash will have all that much value anyway.
