The cheerleaders aren't wearing anything more revealing than way back when I was in highschool. The problem is that the length of the skirt is shorter than the length allowed. They have mid-thigh rules now. Of course, people forget that cheerleaders are also wearing special panties underneath as well. It is just silly. Parents complained when their child was sent home for a too short skirt and then there are the cheerleaders with their short skirts. There is another problem which no one really addresses. The skirt rule is too subjective. Mid-thigh is the rule, but depending on the teacher, the student may be sent home in the 3rd period because it was not until the 3rd period that a teacher decided the skirt was too short. Even if you demonstrate that the skirt is 'mid-thigh' if the teacher thinks it is too short, they can send you home. My daughter has always had a problem and just decided to never wear skirts to school. She has long, thin legs and so mid-thigh shows more leg on her than a shorter girl. I've seen girls with skirts I definitely thought were WAY too short, but they were short girls as well and somehow no one objected. Let my daughter wear a skirt and unless it is almost touching her knees, she will get sent home.
