Well it looks like this is much more complex than I thought. I think I will just give the user a max size edit box with a max chr count and base it on the font size and type they select. This will be uploaded to a web page with a few text areas and I wanted to show the lower text areas (edit boxes on the VFP screen) moving up or down depending on how much they entered. They will see the final result quickly enough on the web.

Bo's code almost works. It does the resize but the first time it adds to the text box height the top line scrolls off the top and it does not catch the enter key.
