I have heard the same thing for years: That VS tools will share common forms, menus, et al. I, for one, welcome that. If would be unbelievably great if you could drop code into a method that was VFP then use a VB DoCmd and maybe even a C++ construction. I don't understand what the fuss there is about this; handled well people who don't want to use other languages really don't have to, they just have to get used to using forms, reports, et al in a slightly different fashion.
