I usually avoid political discussions like the plague as business doesn't mix well with politics or religion, however this bailout scared the bajeebus out of me. 'Capitalism' not 'Socialism' I say. I am with Lou Dobbs from CNN (never liked him much before today) on this one... we should all be celebrating that this plan went down in flames. I try to understand where the folks in Washington are coming from, but more and more they appear to be from another planet. I know there has to be a few sensible people in the Congressional and Executive branches of our government who know what they're doing, are looking out for the country's interests, and have a maturity level above the age of 6 but... oh, what's the point? They do what they do and the wheels go round and round.

In truth maybe it's just me... when some of the things that Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich have said start to make sense to me, maybe I am just not getting enough sleep these days. :)

>>In reaction to what happened to the bailout package which was rejected by the congress, I can't understand why American Politicians can't set aside politics for them to rescue America. These politicians are "free and brave" enough to see the downfall of a great nation that we lookup to. America is really the land of the free and the home of the brave...

>I had the same feeling. I immediately thought they were putting partisanship and politics ahead of the wellbeing of this nation and in a sense, the world. Since then I've read a few articles on the problems with the plan and I may have been wrong. I'm not sure the wrong plan is better than no plan. Hopefully within the next few days a better plan will unfold out of this mess. One thing is for sure, they cannot do nothing indefinitely.
