I think they were scared stoolless, to vote for another pat on the thieves' shoulders and plus to borrow more imaginary money from them to give to them to replenish what they've squandered, while no debts are forgiven to the new homeless (remember the change in bankruptcy law of three years ago?). With elections only weeks away - no way.
