I keep hearing that 50 to 1 figure but don't know where it comes from. People calling their Congresscritter maybe? I would expect complaints to outnumber "I'm with you on this, big guy" calls. That's human nature. We don't usually call someone up to say we like what they're doing.

IAC, at the risk of sounding (and being!) elitist, I'm not sure I want the rabble making the deecision. Or even having much say in it. From everything I have read the issues are so complex even people who work in the financial markets -- Wall Street, Treasury and other government departments, institutional investors -- don't completely understand them. Why should the financially inastute be listened to at all? That is not my attitude in general but it is in this case.
