>>>>Mike, unless you know anything specific about 'something' that needs to be done, i.e. unless you are making informed choice, stories about fiddling while Rome burns are just empty words, i.e. they may easily qualify for the 'fiddling'. What if this bill will make situation worse? What are you going to do in this case? Will you blame other guys or yourself?
>>>
>>>He will blame Bush of course. :o)
>>
>>Who wrote this bill? :). Seriously, I am less concerned about Bush and more about general submissiveness (hopefully, I use right word), i.e. big guys know what to do, especially if they are from my party, and who cares what they actually do. By the way, Reps could learn from their own mistakes of this kind by refusing to look into details and clinging to average intellect (first letter is B), just to preserve the power, for too long.
>>Hopefully, Mike will not use this message to shift back to 'bipartisanship gear' and will provide instead some economic or at least political specifics why this thing (bill) is so good.

>It was changed today for the vote on the Senate tonight. I haven't read the new version though.

They have added couple small tax breaks, and increased FDIC-insured level to $250K. I wonder how it could help FDIC-fund that is threatened to get depleted according to the same experts. These changes are needed to provide cover for House members who will switch vote this weekend.
