VS *does* have a common report designer. It also has a common DataEnvironment designer. As for menus - probably the least signifcant of everything. VB has always handled menus rather well. J++ handles them even better. This is probably way we have not seen a common menu builder. Then again, there is the ActiveBar product. My point is that while there may be a common VS tool to accomplish a task - the fact that it can be used in VFP is one that cannot be relyed upon.

My advice to folks that want an object based report writer - two options:

1. Use Crystal Reports.
2. Use VB's - and create a VB server that allows the report to be printed/displayed

As for OO menus.... Colin Nichols solution to me is pretty darn good. Another alternative is ActiveBar I suppose - although I have not tested it to any great degree in 6.0
