Viv,

The O'Reilly book is not that bad - I've gotten through the first 50 pages - and I wrote my first wpf window - nothing fancy though - but hey it was MY wpf window
It's too early to say now - but it looks promising - goes through every wpf control with samples and explanation - just what I need
At least I know now what it is a about - a giant step

wpf unleashed - I started it - and dropped reading it - too difficult for a beginner (me)

I've bought over 20 .net books and I'm reading bits and pieces. It's difficult to know where to start

My first aim now is to subclass about every wpf control (as I need them) and have some base functionality like I had in vfp, ie windows remembering theri position, grids remembering the order/width/visibility of their columns.

I want to be able to add functionality later - and if everything derives from the base classes, I think I may be in trouble

My ultimate dream is to make a panel with windows on it - auto hide/collapse - dock, .. etc remembering their position and state [ like the vs IDE ]

happy wpf-ing
Gregory
