http://www.foxprohistory.org/foxprotimeline.htm says that VFP8 was released on February 1, 2003. As the message header shows VFP9 SP2 on Vista, that implies a later version of Access. That may or may not affect the usability of the files. Just wanted to give Winfred a heads-up on the situation.

Just to chime in, I used John's thingy recently, on Access 2003, and it did what I needed then. Not sure that it covers every possible case, but from what contact with Access I had, the compatibility issues across versions of Access have very little to do with tables, more with VBA and how it's handled. The status of any mdb file in Office seems to be "document with potentially dangerous macros, best to safeguard against".
